Allied Health Professionals - Therapeutic Radiographer - Band 6

Radiotherapy

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified Radiographers to join our team in at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, in Shrewsbury.  

This opportunity is primarily within the treatment areas, however, there may be an opportunity to work in pre-treatment.

We offer a supportive, collaborative working environment and the chance to participate in our Radiographer led initiatives including Review Clinics, Site specific MDTs, virtual simulation and IGRT.

We actively encourage role development and support staff in achieving their personal goals and aspirations.  All staff have the opportunity to work flexible hours; full-time posts work 37.5 hours over four long days with a rolling day off.  This is for a part time position, working  2 days a week from  8:00am to 18:00pm. 

All staff participate in on-call for emergency patients at the weekend, late rota and on call.

Allied Health Professionals - Qualified Diagnostic Radiographer

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified Radiographers already working as a Band 6 in the Radiotherapy Department in Shrewsbury.  Candidates, however must have an in-depth knowledge and a passion for IGRT. The post will involve working clinically on the treatment units, providing support to other Radiographers on IGRT issues when required as well as some managerial responsibilities.     

On-going professional development is actively encouraged.

The department consists of 3 Varian Linear Accelerators; including 2 Truebeams, a Gulmay Unit and a Toshiba wide bore CT scanner with radiographer-led palliative virtual simulation using Eclipse. We have an active Clinical Trials department and participate in most major trials.

We have recently introduced Lung SABR and are planning on expanding this service in the next few months. Further technical developments are planned for introduction in the near future.

This exciting and challenging role will be part of the non-medical workforce within Surgical services and be part of the wider medical team. This speciality already has many advanced and non- medical practitioners working within this department; however, this is the first role of its kind and will encompass a depth and breadth of practice within this speciality. This will include leading on ward-based care, outpatient clinics and developing a speciality procedure skill to help outpatient services on qualification.

Allied Health Professionals - Advanced Specialist Pharmacist- Rehab (Stroke, Frailty & Orthopaedics)

This is a brand new role within our Trust where we are looking to provide a new service to our patients who require input in the rehabilitation setting,  working as part of a strong clinical pharmacy team focused on this point in the patient’s journey.
