An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist in Fertility and Gynaecology to join a friendly and dynamic team based at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital.

This is a busy DGH with around 4500 deliveries a year in the beautiful county of Shropshire.  You will support the running of the Fertility Unit at a senior level, and undertake oocyte retrieval, embryo transfer and surgical sperm retrieval.  You will also run gynaecology clinics and outpatient hysteroscopy sessions independently, and assist in gynaecology theatres.  This is a great opportunity to gain senior experience in the field of O&G in this consultant led and delivered service. 

Contribution to an out of hours on call rota for the IVF unit (1 in 4 weekends) is core to this role.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor interested in a career in Breast Surgery to join a team of accomplished Surgeons to support delivery of high-quality care to our Breast Surgery patients. This is a full-time 10PA post. The department offers extensive opportunities to support consultants both in a clinic environment and in theatres, with access to complex procedures,
specialist interests.
The post-holder will be based at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford with responsibilities across both sites. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the 1:6 non-resident General Surgery on-call rota alongside a team of Specialty Doctors in Breast and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery. Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role.

The successful candidate will be expected to integrate into the working of the respiratory department but also to develop their own interests. We are looking to attract an enthusiastic candidate with a wide experience of respiratory and general medicine. The job plan is illustrative of current working and the respiratory department would be happy to work with the successful candidate to finalise a job plan that meets the needs of the Trust and satisfies the interests and skillset of the candidate. We are particularly keen to employ a candidate with an interest in lung cancer and skills in bronchoscopy/endobronchial ultrasound or pleural procedures to enhance our existing rota. Currently, the post holder will be expected to do most of their clinical work at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site. Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role.

The Department of Gastroenterology provides a service to the county of Shropshire and Mid Wales and currently consists of 8 Consultant Gastroenterologists and 1 Consultant Hepatologists working across both hospital sites.

One medical and Two full-time Consultant Clinical Oncologists are required for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. This post is a replacement appointment which attracts 10 Programmed Activities and an on-call supplement. Applications are welcome from those who wish to work full-time, part time or job share.
