Welcome to the SaTH Recruitment Newsletter - April 2024 Edition!
We're back with the latest on what's been happening here in the world of Recruitment at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
Let's start by giving a warm welcome to the 77 new starters who have joined SaTH this month! This includes the 22 healthcare assistants who have started their new exciting careers with us in the April academy training, as well as 21 new doctors, each bringing unique expertise to SaTH. We wish them all the best of luck in their new roles, and know that all of our new colleagues will join us in making a real difference for our patients.
We're thrilled to announce that this month we met with Step into Health to explore more about how we can promote our vacancies to those within the Armed Forces community. It's all about opening doors and promoting opportunities for veterans and members of this community to join our fantastic teams! To further support this, we'll be attending the Careers Transition Partnership careers fair on 9th May in Telford, and we can't wait!
April 18th was National Admin Professionals Day! Often when people think of the NHS, their first thought is doctors, nurses and other clinical roles. However there is also a huge range of roles in administrative and support capacities, working together to support our clinical colleagues and to provide the very best patient care. Our clinical colleagues would all agree they couldn't do what they do without the support of all our amazing administrative teams who keep things running behind the scenes. This day was an opportunity to raise awareness of these roles and thank those who work within them for everything that they do!
This month we are excited to announce the launch of our new welcome booklet for medical and dental staff. This comprehensive guide aims to facilitate seamless onboarding of our doctors, providing valuable insight into our trust values, and resources available. A new guide for non-medical staff is in the works currently!
Continuing with our onboarding work, our Recruitment and Medical People Services teams met this month to identify key parts of the onboarding process across medical and non-medical roles. We share a goal of ensuring that our onboarding platform is easy to use and accessible for all our new starters, and we are excited to continue working on this over the coming months.
Our teams continue to work collaboratively together, to ensure an efficient delivery of our onboarding timelines for August 2024 trainee doctors.
Medical People Services participated in IMG induction, where the team was able to engage with our international medical graduates and welcomed them to the SaTH community.
Looking ahead...
May brings a month of celebrations and national days, so make sure you're following us on social media to keep up with these! As mentioned above, we are looking forward to attending the Careers Transition Partnership event on 9th May in Telford, and we'll be sharing more on that in next month's edition.
