Happy New Year!
We hope you had a joyous holiday season, and have enjoyed some rest over the festive period.
As we bid farewell to 2023, we are thrilled to welcome 115 new colleagues to SaTH, including 23 junior doctors. Among these talented individuals are 8 doctors who have joined us as part of the Trauma & Orthopaedic business case. They bring their expertise and fresh perspectives to enhance our services. A big welcome to all our new colleagues who joined in December!
New colleagues have also joined the Enhanced Care Team this month. This is a relatively new team to the Trust, and continues to develop and evolve. Along with the rest of the team, Olivia, Rajpal and Nafeesa will deliver 1:1 enhanced therapeutic care, personal support and supervision to meet the additional physical and psychological wellbeing of our patients. This month, the newer members of the team undertook their 2 day de-escalation and intervention training in the new SERII building. Welcome to the Trust!

This month we were excited to host a recruitment event at the Community Diagnostic Centre in Telford, for Diagnostic Radiographers and students due to qualify in 2024. Those who attended were treated to a tour of the new facility, including a look at the brand new MRI scanner installed just days before. They were also welcomed to meet the team and have their interview on the day. Thank you to those who attended, and we can't wait for our new radiographers to join us!

We continue to work diligently on developing our onboarding processes. Our aim is to ensure a smooth transition and integration into our organisation. As part of this, we will shortly be reviewing our Onboarding portal - if you've recently joined us you can still complete your feedback form! Check your emails for the link to have your say.
On 7th December the Recruitment team donned their festive jumpers in aid of Christmas Jumper Day, and to raise money for Save the Children UK. The day also coincided with our team buffet! We also had a bit of festive fun over on our socials - follow us on Instagram to keep up with all the latest.
Looking ahead to 2024, our Medical People Services team are excited to share that they are actively engaged in the re-deployment of the Trac system. This is in line with our digital strategy to streamline recruitment processes.
