The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is looking for a full-time Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. This post is one focusing on skin cancer subspecialist interest and general OMFS. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team of supportive consultants providing Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Services to the County of Shropshire and a substantial part of the adjacent Welsh County of Powys.

 

Main duties of the job

Clinical
•    We are looking for consultant Colleague with sub-specialist interest in skin cancer which covers patient streams from both Telford & Shrewsbury. 
•    You will be required to undertake general OMFS work as part of service provision requirements.
•    You will undertake Outpatient Clinics at both Hospitals with a main inpatient base and dedicated Head and Neck ward at Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
•    You will undertake both daycase and inpatient operating which is mostly based at the Royal Princess Hospital at Telford. There is the main theatre complex as well as newly built elective hub for daycase procedures
•    There is a 1 in 5 general on call rota with a separate oncology flap cover rota. 
•    To have excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team.
•    To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.
•    To follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.
