The trust are looking to recruit an Operational Estates Decontamination Unit Manager, responsible for an engineering and building maintenance, which includes first-line day to-day management responsibility for providing an efficient, effective, and patient focused maintenance and repair service, within the allocated budgets, using Directly Employed Labour (DEL) and Contractors, who together are involved in the upkeep of the buildings, engineering systems, roadways, footpaths and grounds at the designated site(s).

Acts as Authorised Person/Responsible Officer in relation to specific maintenance responsibilities e.g. decontamination, medical gases, specialised ventilation, electrical safety, water safety. Maintains, operates and reviews Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) 
programmes and through the implementation of suitable operational work plans ensures that buildings, plant and equipment are maintained to the appropriate NHS and statutory standards.
Continually reviews and revises as necessary operational procedures and working practices

Main duties of the job

To manage the Queensway Sterile Services Department team of 3 Engineers carrying out routine decontamination equipment and building service maintenance. Systems include, Washer/Disinfectors, Trolley Washers, Steam Sterilisers (Autoclaves), RO System, Steam Generators, Heating and Cooling, Ventilation, LV Power and Back Up Generator.

The estates department is a small team of dedicated multiskilled engineers, the dynamic is often routine but can also be fast paced and no two days are the same. We have an open, supportive and collaborative culture built on trust where each team member brings unique skills and perspectives.
