We are looking for an enthusiastic, HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.

The post is in Biochemistry at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and open to internal candidates only. 

Suitably qualified Band 5 candidates with a desire to complete their specialist portfolio will be considered .

Main duties of the job

Assist in the provision of a diagnostic service. 
To understand, organise and perform competently a range of laboratory procedures, either singly or as part of a team, that equate to the training and qualifications of a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered BMS.
You will be required to participate in the provision of the out of hour’s service either as a lone worker or as a team leader.  

You may be required to work on any of our other sites, as the need arises. 

Working for our organisation

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital (SaTH) Pathology Services are accredited to UKAS standards.  The Biochemistry section is equipped with Roche Cobas 8000 analysers and Roche pre-analytics and middleware.  The Protein section has Sebia,  Phadia and Binding Site analysers   The department is an approved IBMS/HCPC training laboratory and continuous professional development is actively encouraged.
