The successful applicant will be working closely with other members of the Pathology leadership team, across our three hospital sites, to deliver a quality, patient-focused service.

You will need to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of Pathology; effective leadership skills with experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams; effective communication; be able to interpret and present performance and business data; be able to advise senior managers of risks and issues; and solve operational and day-to-day management issues using previous experience and own initiative.

You will need to have a strong collaborative approach and the ability to engage service users, partners, commissioners, and other key stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

This role requires values-based leadership of a large team of laboratory staff, administrative and Phlebotomy teams.

The individual will also be a key contributor to the overall operational, workforce and finance performance and strategy of the department, working closely with our other Pathology leaders and wider colleagues.
