Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individual to join our radiology Clerical team  at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The successful applicant must be literate, numerate and  have a good understanding of computers.   The clerical team is vital to the efficient running of the imaging department which strives to deliver a high standard of patient centred care.  We are looking for individuals with ambition who are able to work to and achieve goals and/or objectives set by their line manager.

Main duties of the job

 Main duties include liaising with the imaging team and patients, playing an integral part in the administrative tasks for the imaging department which includes greeting patients and booking them onto our Radiology information system while working on one of our reception desks, receiving and making telephone calls to book outpatient appointments. Arranging In patient appointments as the in patient co-ordinator of the day.  Also varied admin tasks throughout the day as required to deliver the service.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is the main provider of acute medical care for half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid-Wales. Most of our services are provided at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in Shrewsbury.
 The Radiology wider team is made up of Consultant radiologists, Radiographers, sonographers and assistants.  Being part of the radiology administrative team you will be working along side these groups of clinicians to ensure we  deliver a high standard of patient centred care.
