An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring Registered Nurse.

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, registered Nurse to join and help lead our team on Ward 24 Respiratory as a Band 6 Respiratory Sister/ Charge Nurse.

The successful candidate will have specialist respiratory skills such as: NIV, Airvo, tracheostomy care.

The candidate should also have excellent interpersonal skills, drive and enthusiasm and be dedicated to ensuring that good quality care is delivered to all our patients.

Main duties of the job

  • To function as a competent clinical practitioner within their designated clinical area. To deliver direct patient care whilst, co-ordinating and supporting other team members.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of clinical activities during their span of duty.  
  • To ensure that there is efficient and effective utilisation of resources to deliver optimum quality care to their client group. 
  • To deputise for the ward/ department  manager in his / her absence, driving forward evidence based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area. 
  • To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. 

Working for your organisation

Ward 24 is a 30 bedded Respiratory ward with a 6 bedded monitored area for those Respiratory patients that require close monitoring.  We work closely with all wards, departments and clinical site teams in order to ensure high standards of care. You will be working closely with the Ward Manager, Matron and current band 6 team helping to shape the future of our ward.  You will have a keen interest in developing staff and a desire to improve services to ensure our patient experience is consistently of a high standard.
